How do i set up emails on my mobile device (iPhone, Blackberry etc...)?
There are many different devices which have the ability to recieve e-mails and as a result the the setup can vary between devices. However the settings should remain the same.
The type of email we use is dependent on what server of ours your website / email is on
Customers on our Ariotek server use IMAP rather than POP3
Customers on our Elite server use POP3 rather than IMAP
The settings you will need are based on your domain name.
In this instance we will use startasite.co.uk.
To setup the e-mail address email@startasite.co.uk on your mobile device you should be asked for two main things, which are.....
Incoming Mail Server and an Outgoing Mail Server.
In both instances the Host Name (also sometimes referred to as the 'server address' is mail.yourdomain.co.uk in this case mail.startasite.co.uk
(if, as in the case of some phones this does not work try deleting the 'mail.' and just type yourdomain.co.uk)
Your username should be your full email address (email@startasite.co.uk)
If an outgoing mail port is required this should be set to 26 and SSL should also be turned off.
If an incoming mail port is required this should be set to 143 and SSL should also be turned off.
(on some phones such as the Samsung Galaxy you have to change the port number to the ones stated above)
You should know your password however if this is not the case, get in touch and we will happily provide you with a password.
