95. Taking Down A Website (and Emails) - Or moving to another server

Once a client decides to leave us we have a well rehearsed plan to help them move smoothly and efficiently to a new host.

One of the first things we do is set a date and time for the handover, which is mutually agreed between both parties.

Next we need (in the case of .co.uk's) the IPS tag.

We then change the IPS Tag at our server side.

Even then nothing needs to happen.

To use an analogy that is like getting a key cut for the person you are selling your house to.

Once this IPS tag is changed however this does mean that the new reseller / host can take over the responsibilty.

They then 'pull' the website and emails across to them (rather than us 'pushing').
